Julie began her insurance career in 1972 with Bell & Grant Insurance. In 1976, she accepted a position with an Insurer as a Commercial Lines Multi-Line Underwriter and remained with Fireman’s Fund for two years. Then, in 1978, she returned to Bell & Grant Insurance to continue her career on the brokerage side of the General Insurance Industry.
Julie began her career at Bell & Grant Insurance as a Commercial Lines Assistant, which evolved to Commercial Service Representative in 1978, which then developed to Commercial Marketing Manager in 1990 – a position she still holds today.
As an advocate for continuing education, Julie obtained her Insurance License in 1986, her Associate of Insurance designation in 1987 (AIIC), her Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation in 1989, her Canadian Certified Insurance Broker (CCIB) designation in 1990 and her Certified Risk Management (CRM) designation in 1997.
Julie is a member of the Insurance Institute of Nova Scotia, of the Metropolitan Halifax Chamber of Commerce, of the Nova Scotia Brokers Association and is an associate member of the Risk Management Society, Atlantic Chapter.
In her spare time, Julie enjoys spending time with her family and her granddaughter, attending antique car shows and restoring an older home. She is also an active member of Curves!
